What can i do on dSpin?

last edited 3 years ago by admin

FIRST: Click here for a quick slide show overview of the DSPIN project.

SECOND:  Click around in the site and let us know what you think of it.

THIRD:  To become an even more active member of the Mid-Missouri disability community, join DSPIN.  Joining is free and easy.

FOURTH: Start posting!

HERE’S A SHORT SUMMARY OF HOW THE SITE WORKS.

DSPIN is designed as a virtual community with several buildings:

If what you want to post, or what you are interested in, seems like it would be in one of these buildings, click on the building you have in mind.  There’s no “wrong” building.  We think that what is posted will sort itself out over time.  If that doesn’t happen, we will make some changes in the site, and you can change the site too.

When you click on a building, you will see one or more of the following “prompts”:

  • Speak Out!
  • Post, Read, or Edit a Document
  • Post, Read, or Edit News
  • Post, Read About, or Edit Events
  • Post, Read, or Answer Classifieds
  • Post, Look At, or Edit an Exhibit]

Pick a category, click on it, and see if it looks like the right place for what you have in mind.  If it is, post, read, edit, answer, look at, or try something else that seems like fun.

There’s another thing you can do on DSPIN.  You can help rate the accessibility of your community.

Most importantly, tell us what you think!  What’s easy to do?  What’s hard to do?  What’s missing?  What’s boring?  What do you like and dislike about the site?  We need your feedback to make the site better.

Thanks!
Laura Schopp and the disAbility Spin team.
