• New members are having a problem signing up..

As a side "benefit" of having the server located at the CARES facility, we get the added benefit of having the server behind multiple firewalls here at the university.  This is great, except the university has a policy where a computer in its system cannot send out automatically generated emails...   ie, when you sign up for the site, you cant have your password sent to you... 

What I did was set the password generator to off, and am letting people select their own passwords.  Though if they wish to get it sent to them, which is an option, they get an error..  If they dont tell the site to email them anything, then they register just fine.

Good news is that this is only a temporary problem.  I have started the process to get an "exception" from the university so that it knows that our ip address is ok to generate emails. 

Bad news is that it will take about a week, according to Stan, to get the paperwork signed and the exception for the firewall in place.
